This hospital-based role includes 24-hour call shifts and outpatient consults, with a preference for candidates available for 10 consecutive days per month.
Job Details:
- Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery, MD/DO
- Position Type: Locum tenens, part-time
- Certification Requirements: Board Certified or eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery, ACLS, BLS
- License Requirements: Pennsylvania license or IMLC
- Patient Mix: 100% adult
- Work Setting: Hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service
- Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 7 a.m. – 7 a.m., 3-10 consecutive shifts per month
- Call: In-house and telephone call, average 1 admission per call shift
- Support Staff: Two advanced practice providers
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Morning rounding with APPs
- Emergency OR cases
- Emergency consults
- Outpatient clinic coverage as needed
- Experience Requirements: Minimum 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience
- EMR: Sunrise, Allscripts, eClinical Works (outpatient)
- Dates: February 9th 2026 – ongoing
