We are seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified General Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Arizona. This assignment offers holiday call coverage at a Level III Trauma Center with a manageable patient volume and established support team.

Coverage Dates

- December 22, 2026 – January 4, 2027
Clinical Responsibilities
- General Surgery call coverage
- Inpatient consultations and admissions
- Surgical management of acute general surgery cases
- Endoscopy procedures as needed
- Daily rounding responsibilities
Required Experience
Candidates should be comfortable performing:
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Appendectomies
- Cholecystectomies
- Hernia repairs
- Upper and lower endoscopy
- Chest tube placement
- Central line placement
- General trauma surgery management
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
- Active Arizona license or IMLC eligibility
- ACLS certification
- ATLS certification
Assignment Details
- In-house call coverage
- Approximately 5 patient encounters per day
- About 2 admissions daily
- 30-minute response time requirement
