Cardiothoracic Surgical PA

• Must have OR license
• Shifts are 24 hour call coverage, 8-12 hours per day
• Act as first-assist in the operating room for complex cardiothoracic surgical cases (coronary bypass, valve surgery, aortic surgery, thoracic procedures) in partnership with the cardiothoracic surgeons. Provide comprehensive perioperative care: patient history & physical examination; ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies; participating in rounds in ICU, step-down, and floor settings; manage post-operative care including chest tubes, pacing wires, central/arterial lines, ventilator management. Competence in advanced surgical support techniques(e.g., conduit harvesting, endoscopic vein harvest, intracardiac monitoring, complex thoracic surgical assistance.
