7 days on and 7 days off. 12 hour shifts. Orientation will be the day before you start the assignment. The average census is 8 to 10 during the day and 15 to 20 at night. Average admissions during the day is 6 and at night is 2. You will round in the ICU and respond to codes. The procedures required with are vent management, central lines, thoracentesis and intubations. There is no mid-level support and you are not expected to serve as back up in the emergency room.
