The new baseline: Rising demand, limited supply

The U.S. health system is operating under a new normal where demand continues to rise while the supply of physicians lags behind. The Association of American Medical Colleges projects a national shortfall of up to 86,000 physicians by 2036, with shortages cutting across primary and specialty care.
